Histoty of Rychaltice [ History ]

The village lies north from the castle of Hukvaldy along both banks of the stream called Ondřejnice between the villages Horní Sklenov and Fryčovice.

In written sources it was for the first time mentioned in 1389 as a bishopric fief and later there was also a stronghold in the village. In 1570 was the village with the court, mill and lime-kiln sold to the bishopric of Olomouc and it became part of the domain of Hukvaldy. It belonged to agricultural villages, however, some of its inhabitants earned additional living as carters, by knitting of stockings as well as by season works as bricklayers or joiners, later people used to go for work to Kopřivnice, Příbor and also Ostrava.
The free court (junkership) was in possession of several owners, in 1879 it was purchased by Josef Jung, the then tenant of the brewery of Hukvaldy.

Until 1960 was Rychaltice separate municipality, in the said year it became local part of Sklenov and together with it both villages merged into the municipality of Hukvaldy in 1982.
